We are proud to join the United Nations (UN) and our national and global partners in celebrating Global Road Safety Week (GRSW). GRSW will be observed May 8-14. During this week, we will focus on speed management and how we can apply the appropriate safety measures to lower the death and injury rate caused by speeding. On May 9th at 2 p.m. EST, AAAM along with chat partners, FIA Foundation, National Safety Council, Safe Kids Worldwide, and Safe States Alliance will participate in the Twitter Chat, #SlowDownChat, hosted by the Child Injury Prevention Alliance (CIPA).

Which brings us to the #SlowDown campaign. In an effort to increase thought leadership around the dangers of speeding and generate action on measures to address speed, we urge you to show your support online by using #SlowDownChat in your tweets and with your comments, posts, and visual media for GRSW.

Some topics of discussion that will be included in the Twitter chat are as follows:

  • Scope of the problem of speed
  • Factors that contribute to speed-related injuries and deaths
  • Strategies to address this issue
  • Calls to action and what individuals can do

The AAAM brand promise is saving lives and the elimination of road traffic injuries. Let’s continue our efforts with #SlowDownChat. Join us!
