Webinar: AIS Analysis Tips and Tricks for Proper Use

This webinar is focused on the practical use of AIS codes in analysis and research. AIS history, versions, codes, and best practices for utilizing AIS in research and analysis will be covered.  Other topics will include mapping of codes, localizers, and proper AIS publication techniques.  The material for this webinar is designed for researchers, analysts, epidemiologists, and graduate students who use AIS codes within their data analysis.

The webinar is appropriate for students, academics, and professionals at any level of education or previous training if they currently utilize or would like to start using AIS for analysis.

This webinar is available to AAAM Members (all member types) at no cost. There is a charge of $50 (USD) for non-members. Pre-registration is required. Registration is now closed.

Instructor: Kathryn L. Loftis, PhD, CAISS is a biomedical engineering researcher with a specialty in Injury Biomechanics.  Dr. Loftis earned her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2007. She received her Master of Science degree (2009) and Doctorate of Philosophy (2013) in Biomedical Engineering from the joint Center for Injury Biomechanics at Wake Forest University and Virginia Tech. Her work has included motor vehicle crash injury research (previously working within the Crash Injury Research and Engineering Network ‘CIREN’ program), soldier survivability (with Army Research Laboratory and the Joint Trauma Analysis and Prevention of Injury In Combat ‘JTAPIC’ program), and injury causation. Dr. Loftis is also a Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) and an active faculty member for the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM).
