The Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) Digital APP, developed by the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (AAAM), is a licensed, subscription-based tool designed for authorized medical, research, and trauma professionals to access the AIS 2015 Dictionary. 

Subscription & Licensing 

Users must purchase an annual subscription ($25 USD standard, $5 USD for Low- and Middle-Income countries) to access the app. 

 
Target Audience 

The tool is intended for global medical professionals, trauma specialists, and researchers. 

 

Usage Restrictions 

The AIS content is protected by copyright, and the app is to be used for authorized injury coding. 

 

Data Privacy & Security 

The app is designed to be HIPAA-safe; it does not store or share patient data in the cloud, operating locally on the user’s device.  Click on the AIS Digital App Privacy Policy for more information. 

 

Account Access 

An individual account must be created, and then it can be used across multiple devices including a phone, tablet, and desktop.

The AIS Digital App provides standardized terminology, but users are responsible for ensuring correct coding according to established rules and guidelines. 

 

Additional Information 

The app allows for 3D anatomical visualization, case summary generation (including ISS and MAIS calculation) and constant updates to the dictionary.
