AIS08 3-Week On Demand Course

The AIS2005/2008 Update Dictionary is still being used for AIS. With the mandated change from this dictionary to the AIS2015 Dictionary effective January 1, 2025, the frequency of AIS08 courses will begin to diminish as facilities begin to transition to the more current dictionary.  We are pleased to announce the addition of AIS08 Online 3-Week Course.

Duration: Three (3) weeks at a time for one (1) month –  Faculty will be available each Friday for 3 consecutive weeks. Registrants will have access to the course for 30 days

Prerequisites:

  • Minimum of 6 months (1 year or more suggested) experience working with AIS either in a trauma registry or coding of injury cases
  • Basic anatomy course or equivalent
  • Basic medical terminology course or equivalent

Equipment Needs: Participants must have a webcam and microphone capabilities as active participation in discussion is required
Materials: All materials are available within the learning platform. The student has the choice of obtaining a copy of the digital AIS2008 Dictionary or a hardcopy.
Facilitator: AAAM Faculty will be available each Friday of the training week for a two (2) hour Q&A sessions to review any AIS08 content that was unclear during the learning period, via a webinar platform
Successful Completion: Must complete the dictionary exercises, chart exercises each week, successfully pass the post-test with 70% or better and complete the evaluation.
Cost: $550.00 USD per/person

*Course logistics and materials are sent out 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Course completion documents are sent out 1-3 weeks after the course has concluded (Upon successful completion).

Course logistics and materials are sent out 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Upon successful completion, course completion documents are sent out via email 1-3 weeks after the course has concluded.

Cancellation Policy

AAAM does NOT issue refunds for any of its courses. If you cancel before the beginning of the course or found ineligible, you can either:

  1. Transfer the registration to another eligible participant or
  2. Transfer the registration to another AAAM hosted course taking place within six (6) months of the original course date (Funds will be forfeited if unused within six (6) months of the original course start date)

* All transfers and cancellations will be assessed a one-hundred-dollar ($100) processing fee.
**AAAM will not accept any cancellations, transfers, or substitutions seven (7) days prior to the beginning of the course or after the course has begun.
