The AIS Clinical Documentation Workshop is specifically geared toward physicians and clinicians who document in the patient’s medical record. The course will include slides, hands on activities and digital materials.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will:
1) Define AIS codes and development of ISS
2) Discuss the impact of documentation, application of scientific knowledge for optimal AIS coding
3) Evaluate the effect of accurate AIS coding on performance improvement initiatives, validation of trauma registry data, and research
4) Identify the impact of accurate AIS coding on TQIP and ACS survey parameters
Duration: On demand available for one (1) month or In-person (4-hours)

Audience: Clinicians responsible for documenting in the patient’s medical record or within an autopsy or medical examiner’s report
Equipment Needs: Participants must have a webcam and microphone capabilities as active participation in discussion is required (for scheduled Q&A sessions only)
Materials: All materials are available within the learning platform. NO AIS Dictionary will be distributed.
Facilitator: Self-directed course. AAAM Faculty available, via a webinar platform during scheduled Q&A sessions.
