AIS Clinical Documentation Workshop
The AIS Clinical Documentation Workshop is a four-hour live session (either in person or via a meeting platform) specifically geared toward physicians and clinicians who document in the patient’s medical record. The course will include slides, hands on activities and digital materials.
Upon completion of this course, the participant will:
1) Define AIS codes and development of ISS
2) Discuss the impact of documentation, application of scientific knowledge for optimal AIS coding
3) Evaluate the effect of accurate AIS coding on performance improvement initiatives, validation of trauma registry data, and research
4) Identify the impact of accurate AIS coding on TQIP and ACS survey parameters
Duration: Virtually Live or In-person singular session (4-hours)
Prerequisites: Clinicians (Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) responsible for documenting in the patient’s medical record or within an autopsy or medical examiner’s report
Equipment Needs: Virtual Live participants must have a webcam and microphone capabilities as active participation in discussion is required (for scheduled Q&A sessions only); No equipment needed for in-person participants (Laptop use for course materials if the participant didn’t print materials prior to class)
Materials: On Demand participants materials are available within the learning platform, NO AIS Dictionary will be distributed; Materials will be provided onsite for in-person participants. NO AIS Dictionary will be distributed. Facilitator: Self-directed course. AAAM Faculty available, via a webinar platform during scheduled Q&A sessions.
Cost: $400.00 USD per/person Scheduling: If you have 10 or more clinicians who would benefit from this workshop and would like to hold it at your facility, a thirty-day (30) day advanced notice is necessary to coordinate schedules and travel arrangements.
*If your employer is paying for your registration, we encourage you to discuss payment or reimbursement options with your employer. We do not offer a waitlist for courses.

*Course logistics and materials are sent out 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Course completion documents are sent out 1-3 weeks after the course has concluded (Upon successful completion).
Cancellation Policy
AAAM does NOT issue refunds for any of its courses. If you cancel before the beginning of the course or found ineligible, you can either:
- Transfer the registration to another eligible participant or
- Transfer the registration to another AAAM hosted course taking place within six (6) months of the original course date (Funds will be forfeited if unused within six (6) months of the original course start date)
* All transfers and cancellations will be assessed a one-hundred-dollar ($100) processing fee.
**AAAM will not accept any cancellations, transfers, or substitutions seven (7) days prior to the beginning of the course or after the course has begun.
