AAAM’s 2025 Webinar Highlights

By Shannon Barnet posted 2 hours ago

2025 was a strong year for AAAM’s webinar series. We hosted five highly rated online webinars, the most popular of which reached more than 300 registrants. AAAM’s Scientific Program Committee’s Education Program Subcommittee hosted these interactive and educational events for both members and nonmember automotive safety professionals alike.

In February, AAAM’s Child and Youth Global Road Safety Special Interest Group launched the 2025 webinar series with “Child Restraint Systems – Handling Used or Expired Products Responsibly, Sustainably, and Ethically,” which offered 1 CEU for Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPSTs). All total, 68 CPSTs claimed credit for attending the webinar.

The May webinar, “Building a Future in Industry: Insights for Early Career Members,” featured a diverse panel of experienced automotive safety professionals sharing their career journeys, discussing lessons learned, and offering practical advice for those preparing to enter or grow within the field of automotive safety.

In June, we explored roadside infrastructure during “Building a Safe System: The Importance of Roadside Design,” which focused on how roadside barriers are tested for real-world effectiveness, as well as emerging areas of infrastructure innovation and research.

In August, we hosted “Facilitating Use of the NJ-SHO Data Warehouse for Transportation Safety Research,” examining the powerful potential of the New Jersey Safety and Health Outcomes (NJ-SHO) Data Warehouse, a population-based data resource that links crash records, driver licensing history, hospital discharges, and more. The data warehouse can be used to inform evidence-based safety interventions.

December’s “Winter Research Potpourri webinar featured “flash” talks from two automotive and traffic safety researchers who provided their analysis on occupant protection data, impaired-driving patterns, and more.

These webinars reflect AAAM’s commitment to advancing automotive safety through education and professional development. To learn more about these webinars, please click here.
