AAAM is proud to welcome and congratulate the newly appointed board members and vice chairs of several AAAM Committees and Special Interest Groups (SIGs). These individuals will play a vital role in advancing AAAM’s mission and supporting our global community of researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.
We are pleased to welcome Scott Gayzik, PhD, to a new leadership role on the AAAM Board of Directors as Treasurer. A member since 2008, Scott has been deeply engaged in AAAM’s leadership and scientific initiatives, including serving on the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) from 2016 to 2021 and as SPC Chair in 2018. He has also served on the Board of Directors since 2020 and currently holds the role of Board Secretary. In recognition of his contributions to the field, Scott received the Elaine Wodzin Young Achiever Award in 2018. He will officially onboard as Treasurer following the April Board of Directors meeting.
We are also excited to welcome three new members of the AAAM Board of Directors: Timothy Brown, PhD; Kerry Danelson, PhD, MBA; and Dennis Maiman, MD, PhD.
Timothy has been a member of AAAM since 2010, and has been an active contributor to several committees, including the Membership and Credentials Committee from 2019 to 2025 and the Nominations and Awards Committee from 2023 to 2024. He has played a key role in AAAM’s scientific programming as a member of the SPC since 2021 and currently serves as Chair of the through October 2028. Timothy also previously chaired the Annual Programming Subcommittee from 2022 to 2023.
Since joining in 2008, Kerry has contributed extensively to AAAM’s educational and scientific efforts, including serving on the Educational Programming Subcommittee from 2017 to 2020 and two terms on the SPC (2018–2022 and 2022–2024). She also chaired the Annual Programming Subcommittee from 2020 to 2021 and served on the Nominations and Awards Committee from 2020 to 2022. Most recently, Kerry served as Chair of the SPC in 2024, demonstrating her continued leadership within this community.
A member since 2005, Dennis brings a wealth of experience through his involvement in several key committees, including serving as Chair of the Policy Committee from 2023 to 2026 and as a member from 2020 to 2023. He has also contributed to the Abbreviated Injury Scale (AIS) Content Subcommittee across multiple terms (2016–2020 and 2025–2028) and served on the SPC from 2018 to 2023. Dennis’s longstanding commitment to AAAM and the field of automotive medicine makes him a valuable addition to the Board.
