Dear AAAM Members,

As we move into the final stretch of 2025, the AAAM community has much to celebrate. The long-awaited digital version of the AIS Dictionary has launched, allowing users to access AIS codes and guidelines across digital devices, with enhanced features to support accuracy and speed in trauma coding. Learn more about this AIS Digital Dictionary app here.

In October, our focus as a community of scientists, physicians, engineers, and public health leaders turns to one of the most exciting events on our calendar: AAAM’s 69th Annual Scientific Conference, happening October 7-10, 2025.

This year’s conference in Indianapolis, IN, USA, promises to be a truly exceptional gathering. We will bring together experts from around the globe to share groundbreaking research, foster collaboration across disciplines, and advance the science of automotive safety and injury prevention. Whether your work centers on biomechanics, clinical care, public policy, or engineering innovations, you will find both inspiration and actionable insights at the event.

Equally important, the conference is a time to connect. AAAM has always thrived on the strength of its community—colleagues who share knowledge and collaborate to reduce road traffic injury worldwide. The annual meeting is our opportunity to strengthen those connections and welcome new voices to the conversation.

I strongly encourage you to register today and make plans to join us, as Sept. 26 is the final day for online registration. Your participation is vital to sustaining AAAM’s role as the global leader in multidisciplinary traffic safety research and practice. Together, we can continue to shape the future of road safety, injury prevention, patient care, and saving lives.

Beyond the Annual Scientific Conference, as always, I encourage you to maintain and deepen your involvement with AAAM to help advance our mission. You can share your research, collaborate with fellow researchers and experts by joining a Special Interest Group (SIG), and so much more.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I look forward to seeing you this October and to the many important conversations we will have together.

Respectfully,

Federico E. Vaca, MD, MPH, FAAAM
President, Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine
