Last month, at the 4th Global Ministerial Conference on Road Safety in Marrakesh, Morocco, an open letter to global leaders on road safety and sustainable mobility was presented. AAAM signed onto this letter, joining over 90 other road safety organizations in a call for immediate action to address the global road safety crisis.
The letter highlights the urgent need for stronger political commitment, increased investment, and evidence-based action to meet the UN’s goal of halving global road traffic deaths and injuries by 2030. It also emphasizes that road safety is not just a transportation issue—it’s a critical public health, equity, and sustainability challenge that disproportionately impacts low- and middle-income countries, children, and youth.
This letter aligns with AAAM’s mission of saving lives and eliminating road traffic injuries through scientific research, authoritative educational programs, and public policy recommendations. Read the full letter here
